Bryan T. Hood, President, graduated in 1992 from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Bryan is the third generation of the Temple family to work in the company. He began working for Shakespeare’s Aggregate division in 1988 at Keyesport Sand & Gravel, while still in college. In June of 1992 he began working full time for Shakespeare. Bryan has held various positions within both divisions of the oil and aggregate companies. In 1999 he became President and Chairman of the Board for Shakespeare Oil Company, Inc. and Shakespeare Aggregates, Inc., positions he continues to hold today. Bryan has served on many professional boards including the Board of Directors for the Illinois Oil & Gas Association (IOGA), Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers (IAAP) and the Board of Directors for the Illinois Petroleum Resource Board (IPRB).
Bryan is also active in community service. He has been a member of the Salem Planning Commission, former President of the Salem Community Activities Center Board, member of the Local Emergency Planning Commission, Board of Directors of the US Bank Corporation, Salem Market Community, and Member of the Millikin University Tabor Center for Entrepreneurship. He is currently the Vice President of Salem Area Aquatics Foundation and a member of the Salem Business and Industrial Committee (SBIC). Bryan and his family are members of the Grace United Methodist Church of Salem. Bryan and his wife, Tracy, have three children Allie, Madison and Carter.
Steven L. Stein, Executive Vice President, graduated in 1980 from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He began working for Leymone Hardcastle & Co., Ltd CPA Firm in 1980, where he still works today. In 1982 Steve became a Certified Public Accountant. Steve also began working at Shakespeare Oil Company in 1998. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Shakespeare Oil Company and Shakespeare Aggregates. Steve’s professional service organizations include the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society.
Steve enjoys golfing, St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball and family outings. Steve has been married to his wife Doris since 1980 and they have two children, Tyson and Shana. They attend Salem Lutheran Church.
Don Williams, Vice President, a Professional Engineer graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1986. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Don then went to work as a Senior Field Engineer with Schlumberger Well Services from 1987-1990. He began his career with Shakespeare Oil Company in 1990. He has served as an Engineer and Operations Manager. In 1997 Don was appointed as the Vice President of Shakespeare Oil Company. Don’s professional associations include the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Illinois Basin SPE Chairperson (1999-2000), Illinois Oil & Gas Association and he was a Board Member of the Illinois Petroleum Resource Board (IPRB).
Don’s community and civic service include being the Vice President and Secretary of Jefferson County Sports Authority, coaching youth baseball, basketball, soccer and flag football. He and his family are avid golfers. He enjoys watching his sons’ sports. Don has been married to his wife Shawn since 1987. They have two boys Matthew and Zach. They attend Second Baptist Church.
Rebecca “Becky” Weber, Land Manager & Corporate Secretary, attended Eastern Illinois University. She obtained the designation of Certified Professional Landman in 1993. Becky began working as a Legal Assistant and Executive Secretary to Shakespeare’s founder and CEO, Harry Temple, in 1975. In 1992 she was appointed to the position of Land Manager.Becky serves several professional associations. For the American Association of Professional Landmen Becky has served on the Board of Directors, Assistant Chairman for the Membership Committee, Public Lands Committee and served as the associations’ 2nd Vice President (2009-2010). As a member of the Tri-State Association of Professional Landmen, Becky has served as Secretary and Local Director. She is also a member of the Illinois Oil & Gas Association, Kentucky Oil & Gas Association and the IOPA (Tri-State).
Becky’s community service includes 12 years on the City of Salem Recreation Board, 6 of which she was the Chairman. She is an active member of the Salem Lutheran Church. She enjoys traveling and boating. Becky is married to her husband Steven. They have two children, Jason & Jordan and two grandchildren, Caleb & Katie.
Douglas M. Alberson, Controller, is a Certified Public Accountant. He graduated from Millikin University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Doug’s past employment includes serving as Senior & Staff Accountant at George S. Olive & Co, CPAs and Lead Accountant at Designer Color Systems in St. Louis. He began his work with Shakespeare in 1998. During his time with Shakespeare, Doug has served as Human Resource & Benefits Advisor, Treasurer, and Vice President of Shakespeare Aggregates.Doug’s professional associations include being a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
Doug has been active in community service by serving as a former Board Member and past President of the Salem Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys golfing, fishing and travelling. Doug also coaches his sons’ basketball and baseball youth teams. He and his wife, Stacey have been married since 1993 and have three boys, T.J., Luke & Cade. They attend Salem Lutheran Church.
Kirk Wilkins, Safety & Environmental Manager, has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. His professional experience includes being a laborer and operator at Effingham Equity, a crop specialist for Rich-Law FS, and owner/manager of Tri-Ag Distributors. When Kirk joined Shakespeare’s staff in 2004 he was the Supervisor for our former KSG Asphalt Company. Kirk also serves as the Safety & Environmental Manager for both the quarry and oil divisions. Kirk is a member of the Marion County Fair Board, Director for Iuka State Bank and various committee positions at Grace United Methodist Church of Salem.
Kirk and his wife Kristen Hood Wilkins live in Iuka. They have three children Kameron, Monte and Kaitlyn. Kirk and Kristen enjoy providing volunteer support for many of their children’s activities. The family is active as members of Grace United Methodist Church.
